A DIFFERENT SIDE OF THE ROAD

Make the unfamiliar
feel a little more natural.

Leftside is a free 3D left-hand driving simulator that runs in your browser. Take the wheel of an automatic, right-hand-drive car in Seabrook, a fictional coastal town built around left-hand traffic.

For travellers, people moving to a left-driving country, or anyone curious about a new perspective, it’s a place to explore before getting behind a real wheel.

BEFORE YOU SET OFF

A few things
you might wonder.

Leftsideとは?

Leftside is a free browser-based 3D driving simulator for getting familiar with driving on the left. Explore Seabrook, a fictional coastal town, in an automatic right-hand-drive car, with traffic, optional coaching and five guided lessons.

運転シミュレーターは無料ですか?

Yes. Leftside is free to play in your browser. There is no software installation or in-game subscription. Your settings and practice progress are saved locally in your browser.

Can I use Leftside before driving in the UK?

You can use Leftside to explore left-hand lane position, clockwise roundabouts, junctions and motorway driving in a virtual setting. It uses UK-style conventions, but Seabrook is fictional. It is not an official driving course, a driving test or a substitute for instruction and the current Highway Code.

スマートフォンやタブレットで動作しますか?

Leftside includes on-screen steering and pedal controls for touch devices. Landscape orientation gives you more room. You need a browser with WebGL support; performance depends on your device. A keyboard and larger screen offer more precise controls.

何を練習できますか?

The five guided lessons cover staying in the left lane, stopping at red lights, roundabouts, one-way streets and motorway driving. Free drive lets you explore connected town roads, a coastal circuit and motorway slip roads at your own pace.

Is left-hand traffic the same as a left-hand-drive car?

No. Left-hand traffic means vehicles travel on the left side of the road. A right-hand-drive car has its steering wheel on the right. Leftside combines left-hand traffic with a right-hand-drive cockpit.

Can it teach me to drive or prepare me for a driving test?

Leftside is a simplified practice simulator for building familiarity. Its traffic and vehicle dynamics do not reproduce every real-world hazard, and it does not assess whether you are ready to drive. Use qualified instruction and official local guidance for real driving.

Does my progress sync between devices?

No. Lesson completions, driving progress and settings stay in local browser storage on the device you use. Clearing site data removes that progress. There are no cross-device accounts in the simulator.
